Hi! I’m Ysel Rosales,

Over 10 years ago, I discovered the rainforest of Tambopata—an experience that changed my life and marked the beginning of my career in ecotourism. What I’m most passionate about is helping guests enjoy an unforgettable adventure in the jungle, while contributing to nature conservation. At Rainforest Expeditions, everything is designed to inspire and foster a deep love for the natural world.

I’ve been fortunate to explore almost every region of Peru,

which has allowed me to experience and enjoy the country’s three distinct natural landscapes. Each place has something special that I always carry with me. I love connecting with people, learning about their traditions, their food, and their way of life. And even though I’ve visited many destinations, what I felt when I arrived in Tambopata was unique—I fell in love at first sight. So much so, that I decided to live there for nearly nine years.

I’ve worked both in the ecolodges and operations,

and that comprehensive experience has helped me immensely. I understand the logistics, the timing, and what it takes to keep everything well organized. It allows me to support agencies from the very first interaction, respond with clarity, and coordinate every detail—especially when guiding fam-trips. For me, the key is thorough planning so everything flows smoothly and naturally.

I love sharing everything Tambopata has to offer with my partner agencies.

Listening to what their travelers are looking for, understanding their expectations, and helping them choose the right program is something I truly enjoy. Because I know that when that match is made, the traveler walks away with a deeply authentic, comfortable, and meaningful connection to both nature and culture.

I’ve also explored other areas of the Peruvian Amazon,

including Tarapoto, Moyobamba, Tingo María, La Merced, Oxapampa, and Chachapoyas. Each one has its charm, but Tambopata offers something different: a connection with the rainforest that is intense, raw, and always surprising. Every activity I’ve done there has felt unique—even when I’ve repeated them. That’s what I explain to my agencies: Tambopata is never the same, it always has something new to offer. It’s an adventure filled with comfort and soul.

To the agencies that haven’t yet offered the Amazon to their travelers, I’d say go for it. Come and experience it for yourselves—there’s no better way to understand the destination. And if you’re going to start selling it, make sure to provide clear information: from what to pack to how to prepare for each activity. Open, honest communication is key to making everything run smoothly and ensuring your travelers have a truly transformative experience.
