Hi! I’m Marco Lobatón Maldonado,

I was born in Lima, a city full of history, culture, and diversity. Growing up in this environment taught me the value of hospitality and respect for local traditions—both essential to creating authentic and memorable travel experiences. This perspective has shaped my approach to sustainable tourism, always promoting the best of each destination without losing its essence and cultural richness.

I’ve had the privilege of visiting 15 of Peru’s 24 regions,

exploring everything from protected natural areas to archaeological sites and historic city centers. Each region has its own charm, but if you're looking for a combination of comfort, authenticity, and a connection to local culture—besides Tambopata—I always recommend Huancayo. It's a city that keeps its traditions alive through festivals, artistic expression, and cultural heritage passed down through generations. It also holds many hidden gems that deserve to be discovered.

I've explored the Peruvian Amazon,

mainly in the central jungle regions of Junín and Pasco, where breathtaking landscapes include winding rivers and cascading waterfalls. But when I arrived in Tambopata, I realized its biodiversity is something truly unique. The connection with nature here is deep and genuine, and at the same time, you can enjoy it with all the comfort offered by our ecolodges: Posada Amazonas, Refugio Amazonas, and Tambopata Research Center.

I spent several years working at Jorge Chávez International Airport,

assisting both local and international travelers at the tourist information office. That experience taught me how to understand what visitors expect from the very first interaction—to feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Today, in my current role, I apply that same level of care to every travel agency I work with. I know firsthand the quality of the experience we offer in Tambopata, and I am confident it's something worth recommending.

To those who have never sold the Amazon before,

I would say—go for it. Stepping away from traditional offerings and embracing immersive, authentic, nature-based experiences makes all the difference. Our ecolodges are not just places to stay—they are gateways to an experience your travelers will never forget.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing Soccer, listening to 80s rock and pop, trying new kinds of food, and exploring a wide range of content on YouTube. For me, the Amazon is not just a destination; it’s a constant source of inspiration to protect and value the beauty of our planet.
